Who We Are?

The Nagaland Association of Tour Operators (NATO) is the premier professional body representing licensed tour operators and tourism stakeholders across the state of Nagaland. Established with the vision of strengthening the tourism industry, NATO serves as a unified platform that brings together tourism professionals who are committed to promoting Nagaland as a world-class travel destination. The association works closely with government departments, local communities, tourism organizations, and industry partners to foster sustainable growth, encourage responsible tourism practices, and enhance the quality of tourism services throughout the state.

As the collective voice of Nagaland's tour operators, NATO is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and service excellence within the tourism sector. We actively promote community-based tourism initiatives that empower local communities, preserve indigenous traditions, and create meaningful economic opportunities while safeguarding the state's unique cultural heritage, pristine landscapes, and biodiversity. Through training programmes, workshops, networking events, and industry collaborations, NATO strives to build the capacity of tourism professionals and ensure that visitors enjoy authentic, safe, and memorable travel experiences.

Beyond representing the interests of its members, NATO plays an important role in advocating for tourism-friendly policies, supporting skill development, encouraging innovation, and fostering partnerships that contribute to the long-term development of tourism in Nagaland. Whether it is promoting internationally renowned festivals such as the Hornbill Festival, showcasing lesser-known destinations, supporting eco-tourism and adventure tourism, or facilitating responsible travel experiences, NATO remains committed to positioning Nagaland as one of India's most distinctive and welcoming destinations. Together with our members and partners, we continue to work towards building a vibrant, inclusive, and sustainable tourism industry that benefits travellers, local communities, and future generations alike.
